Who we are

Lou Ann and Dennis Fike are both Kansas natives, having grown up on diversified farms. We have always had a deep love and appreciation for our rural and agricultural backgrounds, including strong foundations built on faith, family, community, and work ethic.

Although our careers took us away from direct agricultural involvement, there was always a yearning to return to our roots. These thoughts led us to developing the idea of starting a vineyard on our land in central Pottawatomie County. Through individual research and numerous classes offered by Highland Community College at Wamego, we found out we had a lot to learn, but were nevertheless interested in moving forward.

In April of 2020, we planted our first vines and over the next 60 days, we put about 1600 vines in the ground. After visiting with others in the industry, we also began to explore the wine-making end of the business and soon began to take classes in enology. By mid-2023 we were renting space from Highland Community College as part of their incubator program for start-up wineries, and by the end of that year we had bottled our first wines with juice purchased from a local source. By mid-2024 we had bottled our first wines with the grapes grown in our own vineyard, along with other locally-sourced grapes.

In 2025 we moved into our own facility 5 miles south of Westmoreland. As we continue to hone our wine-making skills, our focus remains on wines made with Kansas-grown grapes and making “good wine for good people”. As our motto states, “Our glass is always half-full!” We welcome you to enjoy our setting and our wines - it will feel like coming home!
